Women art revolution!!!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY to all the grrrls out there!!!!
On one hand I think it is really sad, that something like international women's DAY needs to be established, because if we wouldn't still live in a men's world and if it wasn't international men's day every day, we wouldn't need it...but since we do, I'm really glad it does exist!! Simply to show respect for all the leading women in the feminist movement, when it first started in the 60s as well as today! Just imagine where we'd be today wihtout the feminists of the past, we wouldn't be allowed to attend schools, or universities, we would not be allowed to speak our mind, vote, work and in some countries even drive?! Only because we're women, the weak sex ...who says that we are anyways?! And especially nowadays that quite a lot of "rights" and possibilities for women have established and are being taken for granted it is important to not become lazy, rest on one's laurels and feel on the safe side, but notice all the innumerable injustices and inequalities that still are daily fare!
Okay, there are about the same number of men and women attending universities today (and the numer of females is still rising, yay), but how many of them get jobs in leading positions, becuase there's the "risk" they might get pregnant at one point or another, that's so silly and it makes me really angry! What makes me even angrier is the fact that women are constantly being underestimated and still put in that "what girls do well" box, so that very often people seem very suprised by certain abilities or skills, as if a girl had to explain being good at math or a good driver or a good DIYer or a great drummer or skateboarder?! Why shouldn't we be good at it?!?! As if a vagina and breasts would prevent us from doing things!! So let's all keep our eyes and ears open to injustices and do something against them, even if it's just telling those ignoramuses right in their face! And don't be afraid ir ashamed to say that you are a feminist!! Because that only means "to believe in equality" (like Kate says), and that is definitely a good thing!!

In view of the occasion, here's the trailer of a very cool documentary about women in art and their fight for equality, it's called WOMEN ART REVOLUTION!!  (about a "subculture that was no longer content to be a foodnote"), so cool and inspiring!!
